Jon Bellion a Rising Star

I met Jon a few months ago through my friend Cathrine Westergaard a photographer that I have been working with for the past year, she could not stop raving about Jon and his music.   Cathrine told me that Jon’s music is powerful and nothing like I have ever heard before.  This twenty years old guy from Long Island composes and produces all of his music himself. From writing the lyrics, to the beats and the mixing. He often produces an entire song, mixed and completed, all in one day from his bedroom turned studio.  She finally sent over some of his music and I was instantly hooked.  I needed to see where this amazing sound and voice was coming from.

I was brought on to give Jon a new look and style him for all of his up coming projects.  With a new haircut and a few products, I gave Jon a new look that would help translate who he is.   The only thing I can really say about meeting and working with Jon is that he is a genuinely cool and humble young man who is extremely gifted and I look forward in seeing him explode to becoming a super star .

I will tell you, when you listen to Jon’s music you will be absolutely hooked.

Behind the scenes at our Kat & Duck shoot for Bambi Magazine using the Bio Ionic 3/4 inch Rotating Style Winder.

The Bio Ionic Style Winder is leading the way to a new generation of curling irons.  The  Style Winder makes it effortless, all it takes is a flick of the thumb to spin Stylewinder’s clamp, instantly creating perfect curls, styles, and waves.  It allows for faster styling time (up to 50% faster) , seals and smoothes the cuticle, hydrates hair for silky, smooth condition ,styles hair from the inside out and allows for quick styling without damage.  It will leave your hair smooth and silky to the touch. I am finding myself using this tool in and out of the salon.  It has become a staple for me on most shoots, clients and models love the end result and are amazed  how easy this tool is to use.

This amazing tool comes in two sizes, 3/4 inch and a 1 inch size barrel.  Both have Digital Temperature Control up to 440F/226C, has a rotating style roller that spins, has nanoIonic mineral technology and is easy as 1. Clamp, 2. Wrap, 3. Roll

Keep those curls in check…

Spring and Summer hair trends seems to be going in a curly direction.  It’s no secreet that curl mane tends to have a mind of it’s own, but if taken proper care of, you can turn your curls into something glamorous.

For the spring and Summer month’s natural looking locks are all the rage, even though they appear to give a messy impression.  Keeping those curls as natural as possible is key for staying on trend. Whether your hair has a natural curl or you want to give your straight hair a nice bend you have a myriad of interpretations for any length of hair.

Wear  you hair down and wavy for a 70′s big and voluptuous inspired feel, or slick back the sides into a french twist with your curls perched on top of your head like we did for the Z Spoke by Zac Posen S/S show .  Also at the show we pulled curly hair up into loose top knots, leaving soft curls randomly around the face and nape. So all you curly haired girls or wanna bees you have many options to look outstanding in the months to come.  I recommend using the Bio Ionic 1 inch style winder for nice big voluminous curls.

If you have any questions on how to get any of these looks just ask and ill give you step by step  on how to achieve these fashionable looks.

Also please send over a pic of your new fab look would love to see…

Socialites, celebrities, jet setters,  upper class and lower class even fashion’s new super star Abbey Lee Kershaw are taking the leap and rocking out the peroxide blonde.   It’s bold, it’s daring , it’s courageous.  Let’s just say it’s definitely a statement.

With spring no where insight, this is the perfect time to start thinking about the warmer weather and a gleaming new hair do.  For the upcoming season rock your hair a bit fuller with larger than life bleached blonde locks for a more 70′s vibe .

It’s alway fun to go brighter in the balmy months, for those who want that super icy blonde, you might experiment with the bluish/cooler tone for a more profound platinum hue.  However, just remember that this process also comes with some risks.

NOTE TO SELF.  Don’t try this at home.  See a professional (like me).  It’s a little grueling of a process so I highly recommend you visit your favorite hair salon to get it right. Talk to your stylist to figure out the right shade of blonde for your skin tone.  Remember “beauty is pain” and the end result is stunning.

Also remember to take good care of your new obsession.  Use the right shampoos and a really good conditioner, like Label M intensive repair shampoo and conditioner.  Have fun girls, and remember when you are tired of being blonde you can always go red.

Abbey Lee Kershaw has gone all 70′s glam with larger than life bleach blonde hair for the latest issue of V Magazine.  The January issue has names Miss Krenshaw a new supermodel. The 23 year old Australian has been rising to the top for years. This season, however, with out a doubt belongs to her.  Meet fashions new supermodel.

Abbey looks absolutely amazing with her platinum  blonde locks, fuchsia lips, red nails and a burnt orange bodysuit by Salvatore Farragamo almost garish aqua eyeshadow.  A is for Abbey was shot by photographer Sebastian Faena and will hit stands on January 13, 2011
